NU, POGODI! Part 4

These drawings are from last episode of original NU,POGODI! series. In that 16th episode the Wolf and the Hare found itself in the world of folk tales.

The art material was presented to Russian Insider by Vladimir Nikitin.

The place I stay is still goverened by Soviet Party. In its peak time...and when there were no cables...the Russian Cartoons were aired...I still remember seeing them. They use to be so much fun...and there was another animation of a small mole...A Russian one...
Its great to see these art works...never ever realized that I would get into this...the art of storytelling...
I really admire you people...I wish I knew Russian...thanks a lot for sharing it here...
By the way where can I get a copy of all the series? And have you animators done the whole series again, coloring it digitally? please let me know...

regards
Gulzar

Hi! Great site! This is kind of silly, but this IS a blog on soviet animation, so here it goes:
As a child, I watched a soviet style animation. It was about a group of teenagers, beset by secret policemen, working for a tyrannical king. The little man sported a beard and used to make anyone he didn't like disappear: His throne room had a chessboard floor and the tiles opened when he pressed a button on his throne. As the film progressed, he made a clone of himself, but the clone used the same trick on the king. At the end, the kids escape on a huge bird (?) while a robot destroys the city trying to catch them.
It's a shot in the dark..., but does anyone know the name of the film?
