RUSLAN & LUDMILA. Feature which did not take place

In the early ninetieth there was a plan to produce the animated feature based on very famous poem of Alexander Pushkin. Englishmen and Russian studio Christmas Films worked in common on RUSLAN & LUDMILA. Vyacheslav Kotenochkin was a director and Gennady Novozhilov (he worked on many Russian classic films including SNOW QUEEN) has acted as production designer. Here you can see the concept art for movie.

Thank you Hans! I'll put another portion tomorrow. And I sent your comment to Gennady already. He is the real veteran of Russian animation and in business since 50s.
